This is how it works, The Gun Doctor, Inc. works as a shipping address for purchases. You purchase the firearm from an FFL DEALER. We will then send a copy of my FFL to that dealer, they will at that time ship us the firearm. Once the firearm is in my store you then fill out the required paperwork. This includeds the yellow federal form (4473). From the time you sign the federal form the waiting period starts. 1 day for long guns and 3 days for handguns. I have to then call the state of Illinois to get an approval number for the transaction. Pending the approval number you can pick up your firearm after the waiting period. We will not give out our FFL number, the shipping dealer must have a current ink signed copy. This also means we cannot fax or e-mail our FFL to anyone. Also with every gun that comes in we need to have a copy of that dealers current FFL. If they do not have an FFL I cannot do the transaction. We will not transact any illegal firearms, or any Law Enforcement Only to civilians. We will not waive any waiting period or bend any laws in any way what so ever!!!
All Law Enforcement Only transactions must be accompanied by department letterhead signed by current chief. We will verify this information.
The charge is $38.00 per FIREARM. IF YOU TRANSACT 4 FIREARMS AT ONE TIME THE CHARGE IS STILL 38.00 PER FIREARM. We feel this is very fair considering the following reasons.
All FFLs will be sent standards US mail unless otherwise specified. If you would like our FFL sent next day or priority there will be an extra charge. The charges are as follows.
1. Next Day or Express Mailing; the charge is $15.00 dollars, this is guarantees deliver by the US Postal Service. In some rare instances the can only guarantee 2nd day delivery, this is to remote places.
2. Priority Mail; the charge is $7.00, this is 2-3 day delivery, but it is not guaranteed by the US Postal Service, thus it is not guaranteed by us.
Here is how the shipping aspect of transfers work; once the dealer you are purchasing from receives my FFL they can ship the firearms. ALL HAND GUNS MUST BE SHIPPED NEXT DAY!!! Long guns can be shipped standard ground delivery. We will call you when the firearms comes in. When we call you then you can come in at any time during our business hours to start the paperwork as listed above.

A last note as to FFL transfers; It may take me a day to process the transfer, this means if you e-mail me on Tuesday morning, I might not send it till Wednesday. ALSO: if an FFL dealer has my FFL on file I don't have to send another one, but please notify me of any firearms they will be shipping. Send me an E-mail or a fax or just call me. Thank You. This is to ensure I can notify you as soon as the firearm is in my store. Sometimes there are instances that one doesn't want me to call home there for you can let me know that and I will wait to hear from you.
